Support BigCommerce stores during migration discovery and help map their native features and apps onto the right Shopify equivalent.

BigCommerce migrations are different from most: both platforms are fully hosted, so the work is less about untangling infrastructure and more about mapping functionality correctly. As a BigCommerce Developer at UVT, you'll understand what a client's current store does natively versus through an app, so the Shopify rebuild doesn't miss anything or duplicate effort.

What You'll Do

Audit a client's BigCommerce store during migration discovery: native features in use, installed apps, and any custom storefront API work.
Map BigCommerce-native functionality (multi-currency, product filtering, some B2B tools) to its correct Shopify equivalent, native feature, app, or custom build, rather than assuming a like-for-like match exists.
Flag checkout customization that was possible on BigCommerce's standard checkout but needs Shopify Plus Checkout Extensibility to replicate.
Perform direct BigCommerce maintenance for clients still running their current site during a transition period.
Work alongside the Shopify development team as the BigCommerce-side expert on each migration.

What We're Looking For

Real, hands-on BigCommerce development experience: Stencil theme development, the BigCommerce Storefront API, and app/webhook configuration.
Comfortable auditing a live store and documenting its functionality clearly for a team that doesn't know BigCommerce.
Enough familiarity with Shopify's data model to map features between the two platforms conceptually, even without deep Shopify development experience.
Clear written communication, since a lot of this role is translating one platform's functionality into terms a Shopify-focused team can act on.

Nice to have: experience with a prior BigCommerce-to-Shopify migration specifically, headless BigCommerce experience, multi-storefront BigCommerce setups.
