DevOps Engineer

Own deployment, infrastructure and reliability for UVT's own tools and client integration services, not the Shopify storefronts themselves.

Shopify hosts the storefront, but the integrations, internal tools and custom backend services around it still need real infrastructure and deployment discipline. As a DevOps Engineer at UVT, you'll own that side: deployment pipelines, infrastructure for custom services, and the reliability of everything that isn't Shopify's own hosted layer.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for UVT's own tools and client-specific backend services and integrations.
  • Manage infrastructure for custom services (ERP/OMS integrations, custom apps, internal tools), keeping it secure, monitored and reasonably priced.
  • Set up monitoring and alerting that actually catches problems before a client notices, not after.
  • Support the development team with environment setup, deployment troubleshooting, and infrastructure decisions for new projects.
  • Document infrastructure clearly enough that it isn't a single point of failure if you're unavailable.

What We're Looking For

  • Real DevOps/infrastructure experience: CI/CD pipeline setup, cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP or similar), and monitoring/alerting tooling.
  • Comfortable with containerization and infrastructure-as-code, not just manual server configuration.
  • Security-conscious by default: secrets management, access control and the basics that prevent an integration from becoming a liability.
  • Clear documentation habits. Infrastructure that only one person understands is a risk this role exists to avoid.

Nice to have: experience with serverless/edge deployment platforms, Supabase or a comparable backend-as-a-service experience, experience supporting a Shopify-adjacent integration stack specifically.

What We Offer

Remote-first work, and genuine ownership of infrastructure decisions rather than following a playbook set by someone else.
