Frontend Developer
Build the React-based tools and interfaces that sit alongside Shopify storefronts, the assessment flow, application forms, embedded app UIs and internal dashboards.
Not all of UVT's frontend work is Liquid themes. As a Frontend Developer at UVT, you'll build the React/TypeScript side of the practice: the multi-step tools on UVT's own site, embedded Shopify app interfaces, and internal dashboards, work that needs real frontend engineering, not theme customization.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain React/TypeScript interfaces: multi-step forms, interactive tools, and embedded app UIs that need to handle real state and edge cases well.
- Work closely with designers to implement interfaces precisely, including the states that are easy to skip: loading, error, empty and edge cases.
- Build reusable components that get used across multiple projects rather than one-off code for each new interface.
- Optimize frontend performance where it matters: bundle size, render performance, and genuinely fast interactions, not just a passing Lighthouse score.
- Collaborate with backend and Shopify theme developers on projects that span multiple layers of the stack.
What We're Looking For
- Real React/TypeScript experience building production interfaces, not just following tutorials or working from a component library with no customization.
- Comfortable with state management, form handling and the genuinely tricky parts of frontend work: validation, async states, accessibility.
- An eye for implementation precision. A design that's "close enough" isn't actually done.
- Enough backend awareness to work effectively with API contracts and server function boundaries, even without owning that side of the stack.
Nice to have: Shopify embedded app (App Bridge) experience, experience with TanStack Router or a comparable modern React routing/data layer, accessibility (a11y) expertise.
What We Offer
Remote-first work, and frontend engineering judged on real interaction quality, not just visual fidelity to a design file.
How to Apply
Use the form on this page. A link to a React-based interface you've built, especially something with real interaction complexity, tells us more than a resume alone.
