QA Engineer
Own testing for Shopify migrations and development builds, data integrity, checkout, redirects and cross-device QA before anything launches.
Nobody notices good QA, they only notice what it missed. As a QA Engineer at UVT, you'll be the last real check before a migration or development project goes live: testing data accuracy, every payment method, every redirect, and the experience on real devices, not just a resized browser window.
What You'll Do
- Test data migration accuracy: products, variants, customers and orders match what was actually in the source platform, not just what the import script reported as successful.
- Test every payment method a client accepts, in the actual checkout flow, on both desktop and mobile.
- Verify the redirect map: spot-check a meaningful sample of migrated URLs, not just the highest-traffic ones, to catch gaps before launch rather than after.
- Run cross-device and cross-browser QA on real devices where it matters (checkout, forms, any custom interaction), not only through browser dev-tools emulation.
- Build and maintain a QA checklist specific to each project type (migration vs. new build vs. Shopify Plus feature work), since the risk areas are genuinely different.
What We're Looking For
- Real QA experience on web applications, ideally ecommerce specifically, where checkout and payment correctness carry real financial consequence.
- Comfortable both writing structured test plans and doing genuinely exploratory testing. Good QA catches things a checklist alone wouldn't.
- Enough technical understanding to read a redirect map, understand what a migration script actually did, and ask sharp, specific questions when something looks wrong.
- Clear, calm communication under launch-week pressure. This role is trusted to say "this isn't ready" even when a deadline is close.
Nice to have: experience QA-ing a platform migration specifically, familiarity with Shopify's admin and checkout flow, test automation experience (though this role is not automation-first).
What We Offer
Remote-first work, and a role with real authority. A QA sign-off here genuinely gates launch, it isn't a formality squeezed in at the end of a timeline.
