Build custom embedded Shopify apps and integrations for client-specific functionality that a theme or an off-the-shelf app can't provide.

Some functionality genuinely needs an app, not a theme section: a configurator with real backend logic, a custom admin tool, a connection to an external system that needs its own interface. As a Shopify App Developer at UVT, you'll build embedded apps using Shopify's app platform, for client projects where off-the-shelf apps and theme customization don't cover what's needed.

What You'll Do

Build embedded Shopify apps using Shopify's app platform (Remix-based app framework, App Bridge), for custom functionality a theme section can't provide.
Develop backend logic behind custom apps: pricing engines, configurators, approval workflows, whatever the specific client need actually is.
Integrate apps with Shopify's Admin API, webhooks, and external systems as needed.
Work with the theme development team on apps that need matching storefront-side components, keeping the two halves consistent.
Help decide, during project scoping, whether a requirement genuinely needs a custom app or can be solved more simply, since building an app is a bigger commitment than a theme section.

What We're Looking For

Real Shopify app development experience: the Remix-based app framework, App Bridge, and Shopify's Admin and Partner APIs.
Solid backend development skills (Node.js/TypeScript), since custom apps usually need real server-side logic, not just a storefront-facing interface.
Comfortable with OAuth, webhooks and the authentication model Shopify apps run on.
Judgment about when a custom app is the right solution versus overkill for what a client actually needs.

Nice to have: Shopify App Store submission experience, experience with Shopify Functions as an alternative to a full custom app, GraphQL Admin API experience.
